These recipes are simple and no one knows how to cook until they learn! The magic of my party plans lies in the prep work and this includes testing any recipes or techniques that are unfamiliar to you. The good news is, your friends and family will love them time after time! Anytime I test a recipe, I make notes of any changes or timing so I’ll be even more prepared next time. 

Entertaining at home is best when you have a firmly timed plan and then follow it as best you can. Setting timers, following the prep timeline, and not taking it all too seriously are the keys to success!

I buy flowers where everyone else does - HEB, Kroger, Trader Joe’s. I prefer to use what is in season and I normally stick to a more single color and add whatever I can find in that color for additional texture. I also prefer to have lower floral arrangements to allow for cross-table conversation. Any leftover flowers go in julep cups or bud vases or even empty candle votives to fill in the table.

A few easy tools and you’ll be on your way. A good pair of floral scissors, a few low, wide glass vases, and some scotch or floral tape. Tape off a tic-tac-toe pattern on top and add water. Hydrangeas are your best friend! Cut three so they just stick out of the top of the vase. Fill in with whatever you can find, I love roses, tulips, stock, whatever.

I’ve curated a specific list of each pan or tool needed for each recipe and included those in the store for that party plan. I have a strict rule in my kitchen (and closet!) that I only want items that are useful and fill a hole. I don’t need duplicate items or specialty tools that are rarely used. Let’s be intentional about our kitchens so they can be an organized hub for cooking each dish.

We understand that not everyone lives in a large city with multiple specialty wine stores. We will always suggest and explain a certain grape or region before suggesting a specific label.  Often times a Napa cab is a Napa cab, but we have a favorite producer. Our goal is for you and your guests expand their wine horizons by learning about each grape and region as you enjoy your meal!
